2017 BookTube-A-Thon Challenge!

Hello reader friends! I am very very excited to say that I will be participating in the BookTube-A-Thon of 2017! The event starts on July 24th and ends July 30th (one week long, seven days of awesome literature). To get more information on the much awaited event, see Ariel Bissett’s Video explaining pretty much everything you need to know, she is the one hosting it after all!

AND today, I have just learned about the 2017 READING CHALLENGES (PLUS THERE’S A GIVEAWAY – she explains in the video description how to win a box full of books given away by Penguin Platform) and I am majorly excited! If you don’t want to watch the video, here are the 7 challenges listed out and what I myself, plan on reading:

CHALLENGE 1:

Read a book with a person on the cover

For this challenge, I am picking the book The Giver by Lois Lowry because one, I’ve never read it before. And two, I’ve heard immensely great things about it and I enjoyed the movie, like A LOT.

CHALLENGE 2:

Read a hyped book

There are SO many books that have been hyped in the BookTuber/Book Community and it was kind of difficult for me to pick one, but I’ve settled on King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard, because I am currently reading the second book in the Red Queen series called Glass Sword and I’m probably going to finish that soon so this would be a perfect fit!

CHALLENGE 3:

Finish a book in one day

OH MAN, this is where I ask myself “what the hell have I taken on?!” but it is a challenge I am willing to accept! The book I’ve chosen is The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger by Stephen King. I did this because it’s only 288 pages and one of the books I’m really looking forward to reading, so I desperately hope that I will be able to knock this challenge out.

CHALLENGE 4:

Read about a character that is very different from you

Okay, so this challenge has quite a bit of options to choose from; when I was looking through my TBR pile, I decided on Words on Bathroom Walls by Julia Walton because it’s one of those books that I wouldn’t normally read, but got in my Uppercase Box Subscription and it seemed super interesting, so I thought, why not give it a try.

CHALLENGE 5:

Finish a book completely outdoors

This was one challenge that I was not expecting in the least! However, it seems like so much fun! I’m going to be reading The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black because it seems like the outdoorsy type of book and takes place it seems in the world of Faeries and such and I’m just very excited to read it!

CHALLENGE 6:

Read a book you bought because of the cover

Truth time, what drew me to my next pick was the cover, but I may have peeked inside before actually buying the book (oops). It’s seriously the hardest thing to buy a book without knowing what you’re going to read! But, like I said, the cover did grab my attention, the book I’m reading is Heartless by Marissa Meyer and it’s funny, the description REALLY drew me in, like it’s probably the book I’m looking forward to reading the very most in my TBR pile.

CHALLENGE 7:

Read seven books

This one is going to be the toughest by FAR. I’ve never read seven books in a week before, like, EVER. I don’t think I even did that in elementary/middle school and DEFINITELY not high school and not now in college, there’s never enough time! BUT I WILL DEFEAT THIS CHALLENGE, so the last, but certainly not least, book I’m choosing to read is *drum roll*….

Song of the Current by Sarah Tolcser!!! Okay, so I have been looking forward to reading this book ever since I got it, it has pirates and is about adventure and love! Definitely going to adore this one, I can already tell.

***

READERS AND BOOK LOVERS please start this challenge with me! I’m not too worried about getting all these done in seven days, I might only be able to do one, but LET’S TRY TO GET THEM ALL! Comment down below which books you would read, or if you have read any of the ones I selected, let me know what you thought of them!

That’s all for now, wish me luck on my endeavors as I will wish you well on yours! xx
